Sharp Increase in Mobile Work Job Openings
Since the beginning of 2026, Russian employers have significantly increased the number of vacancies involving a mobile work format. According to hh.ru, the number of such offers rose from 76.9 thousand in January to 117.8 thousand in August, marking a 53% growth over eight months.
Comparing the January-to-August periods of 2025 and 2026, the growth reaches 62%—from 465.9 thousand offers to 756.3 thousand. This reflects a major shift in employer demand, with companies increasingly seeking employees ready for regular business trips and mobile work.
Leaders in Job Openings Involving Business Trips
The transport industry companies are the most active in offering jobs with travel requirements, posting 348.4 thousand vacancies in this format. This is more than double the number of listings in other sectors.
The top five also include the home and service personnel sector (335.7 thousand vacancies), skilled labor positions (258.9 thousand), administrative staff (165.5 thousand), and sales departments (140.8 thousand). These figures indicate broad adoption of the mobile work format across various labor market segments.
Reasons and Consequences of the Growth in Mobile Job Openings
The rise in employer interest in mobile workers is driven by several factors: the expansion of logistics and service offerings, increased transportation volumes, and development of remote regions. The mobile format enables companies to respond quickly to market needs and provide services across multiple locations nationwide.
For job seekers, this opens up new employment opportunities with more flexible conditions and often higher pay. However, it simultaneously raises demands for mobility and readiness for frequent travel, impacting the balance between work and personal life.
Growth of Vacancies Among Labor and Line Positions
Roman Gubanov, Development Director at Avito Jobs, noted an increase in vacancies within the labor and line professions segment during January–August 2026. This trend aligns with the overall growth of mobile job offers in the labor market.
The rising demand for mobile employees in these professions is linked to the need to support production processes and service delivery across various regions, requiring workers to be highly mobile and prepared for business trips.
Outlook for the Development of the Mobile Labor Market
Given the current dynamics, further growth in job openings with a mobile work format is expected, especially in transportation and service sectors. Companies will intensify requirements for candidates’ willingness to travel and skills for working in constantly changing locations.
At the same time, the expansion of the mobile labor market encourages the creation of new support services for workers, including improved living conditions and transport logistics, which will increase the attractiveness of such vacancies and help retain qualified specialists.
Conclusion: Demand for mobile workers in Russia continues to grow, reflecting changes in the labor market structure and requiring adaptation from both employers and job seekers.
